i dwell in possibility

I dwell in Possibility–
A fairer House than Prose–
More numerous of Windows–
Superior–for Doors–

Of Chambers as the Cedars–
Impregnable of Eye–
And for an Everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky–

Of Visitors–the fairest–
For Occupation–This–
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise–

–Emily Dickinson

  1. I just wandered on in, loved the photos in “the colors of england” post. I was looking to see what people thought of “I dwell in possibility,” and I think your photos here probably represent “narrow hands / to gather Paradise” aptly.

I did write a commentary on Dickinson’s poem myself; I wonder if that would be of interest.
